Alberta’s prairie and farmland provide incredible hunting opportunities for Hungarian partridge, sharp-tailed grouse, and pheasants. Our guided upland hunts offer fast-flying action, expert bird dogs, and prime habitat filled with coveys of wild and released birds.
- Best Time to Hunt: September through November. Early fall offers larger coveys and mild weather, while late season brings sharp flights and beautiful plumage.
- Terrain: Rolling prairies, harvested grain fields, coulees, and shelterbelts provide diverse cover that challenges both hunters and dogs.
- Success Rate: Hunters can expect consistent opportunities thanks to managed bird populations, prime habitat, and experienced guides who know the land.
- Physical Requirements: Moderate walking over uneven ground, often several miles a day. A good level of fitness and sturdy boots make for the best experience, but hunts can be tailored to your pace.
